About The Youth Count

The Youth Count provides a snapshot of how many unaccompanied youth under age 18 (without a parent or guardian), and transition age young adults (age 18-24) are experiencing homelessness on any given night throughout the Los Angeles area.

The Youth Count is a survey-based count where we capture both the demographic information and scale of the homeless youth population.

Data collected from the Youth Count directly impacts local, state, and federal measures when addressing homeless youth services, and is a powerful tool for local planning and advocacy. Ultimately, counting youth and directing targeted resources help us prevent the next generation of chronically homeless adults.
